The Barker name was established as a brand in 1970 and first introduced to Castle Arcade in 1982. Barker’s Tavern stands as a testament to the family’s legacy, a tribute to decades of passion, craftsmanship, and hospitality. With deep roots in Castle Arcade, now a true destination for food and drink, Barker’s continues to shape the area’s vibrant spirit through its ever-growing collection of venues and offerings.
Guests can expect a dedicated Guinness Saloon. A room built as a homage to the stout’s rooted timelessness and culture. Designed to capture the warmth of a Welsh-inspired atmosphere, it features bespoke artwork, including a hand-drawn reinterpretation of The Last Supper reimagined as The Last Guinness, filled with nods to Cardiff's heritage. It’s a space where tradition and creativity come together in perfect harmony.
Coming soon… our new food menu celebrates the charm of simple, classic bar dining done right. From triple cheese toasties and pork pies to anchovies on toast, olives, nuts, and other timeless bar snacks, every bite is designed to complement a pint, a pour, and great company.
